Honor guard

The Sherman Police Department Honor Guard is a prestigious ceremonial unit comprised of volunteer officers who proudly represent the department to the residents of Sherman and Grayson County. Tasked with honoring fallen officers and participating in official ceremonies, their duties include presenting and escorting the U.S. and Texas flags. The unit also features a Highland Piper, who commemorates fallen officers through the distinctive traditions and music of the Scottish Highlands. Membership is reserved for officers who demonstrate exceptional motivation, professionalism, and impeccable standards of conduct and appearance.
